India’s push to build an AI-ready workforce is gaining fresh momentum, with officials pointing to new domestic chip manufacturing capacity as a foundation for the country’s ambitions in artificial intelligence and robotics. The message has featured prominently at recent facility inaugurations, where leaders have urged young workers to continuously upgrade their skills.
Industry body Nasscom projects that agentic AI could add $300 to $400 billion in addressable tech-services spend by 2030, even as it flags a shortage of advanced AI-skilled professionals as a near-term constraint on the sector’s growth.
